York County Community Action Corporation

“York County Community Action has partnered with others in the Sustain Southern Maine effort to promote a sustainable and long-term vision and plan for the economic, health and social equity of the region and its residents,” says Barbara Crider, Executive Director of YCCAC.

Incorporated in 1965, the YCCAC is a local organization committed to combating poverty in York County. They provide a number of services and programs aimed at improving the quality of life of those in poverty in York County, including programs aimed at early education, nutrition, fuel assistance and health care. In recent decades YCCAC has increased their focus on helping those in poverty obtain and preserve assets like homes, businesses, and higher education so that they can achieve long-term financial security.
